Google Traffic

Google Traffic Estimator

The Google Traffic Estimator is a free tool provided by Google that helps people figure out how much traffic their ads will garner from certain keyword searches.

The traffic estimator is part of the Google adwords program and can be used in conjunction with the keyword generator tool. This article will explain how the tool works, and then it will briefly mention how some website building software uses it to help people create profitable websites.

Traffic Estimator

The Google Traffic Estimator tells you how much traffic you can expect to see from a certain keyword or phrase as well as estimating how much you can expect to spend when you run your campaign.

To run a search, you will need to enter a keyword or phrase and the maximum amount that you are willing to pay per click (Maximum CPC). Once you have entered your data, Google will give you your results in an easy to read chart.

Using a Traffic Estimator

For instance, if you use the estimator for a commonly searched phrase like get out of debt and you set your Maximum CPC at one dollar, the results will tell you that there are 60,500 monthly searches for that phrase and 40,500 local monthly searches for that phrase.

Based on those numbers, you can expect to pay about .68 cents per click, your ad will appear between the eighth and ninth position, you will get about 11 clicks per day, and your daily budget will be just under 11.00. The less a word is searched, the lower the cost will be and the higher your ad placement will be.

For instance, the phrase how to train your dog to sit is only searched about 1,300 times a month, your ad will rank between first and second place, and you can expect to pay about 1.50 a day for two clicks.

Lack of Features

However, in spite of how useful the Google Traffic Estimator is, it still lacks certain features. These include things like estimates based on the placements that you choose or estimates based on the content of your ad.

If you are interested in features like this, you may need to turn to website building software that includes comprehensive versions of the traffic estimator.

In fact, a high quality website building software will help you find less competitive keywords and profitable niches and teach you how to build a webpage around them.

As you can see, the Google Traffic Estimator is a great and useful tool. However, it is not always the most effective when used on its own. In order to tap into its full potential and maximize your efforts, you may want to use a version of it that is embedded in a website building program.
