Page Rank GoogleMany website owners may wonder how Google determines where their page will be listed. The simple answer is The more other sites link to yours, the higher your ranking will be. Of course, it is not quite that simple. All links are not created equal, and some links will provide a higher "score" than others. Quality Vs. Quantity Quality of the links matter. For example, a single high ranking page linking to your site will boost your rank much faster than a dozen links from pages that have very low ranks. Here are some of the main criteria used in calculating page ranks: Total amount of rank incoming to your pages. This is the cumulative ranking for all pages which link to yours. Not only does the total include all outside pages linking into yours, but it also includes internal links between separate pages on your site. Rank increases with the number of pages for your site. Multiple pages of content will rank higher than a single page with multiple articles, so it is good to break pages up and link them to each other. Submit your articles to directories. In order to build back links to your web page and improve page rankings, many site owners submit unique articles to directories. These articles include a link to their page. Buy links instead of advertisements. It is possible to buy links as one might buy advertising. Often, these links are very powerful, but Google frowns upon this practice. If Google discovers a website using this method, they may reduce rank. A page linking to yours will only help your site rank if the other page is part of the Google database. When trading links, if you reciprocate a link, it may not boost the rank as much as single incoming link will. |
